Fire Prevention Week at DFCS

Fire Prevention Week will take place from October 6–10, 2025, and our students will be taking part in some meaningful and memorable activities with the Chauvin Fire Department.

On Wednesday, October 8th at 10:10 a.m., firefighters will arrive at the school with fire trucks and will be dressed in full gear. This is a valuable opportunity for students to see what an emergency response looks and sounds like, helping them feel more prepared in case of a real emergency.

???? Please note: a small correction! The paper permission forms that went home listed the date as October 9th. The correct date is Wednesday, October 8th. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Following the school visit, K–4 students will walk with staff to the Chauvin Fire Hall. There, they’ll enjoy a tour of the facility, meet local firefighters, and learn more about fire safety in our community. Students will return to school in time for lunch.

Permission forms will be sent home shortly, and we ask that families return them as soon as possible.

We are grateful to the Chauvin Fire Department for their ongoing support and commitment to helping our students learn how to stay safe.
